Qualifications

Since then, I have been working hard in order to teach myself as much as i can about dog grooming, however like anything you will never know it all. I attend seminars and grooming competitions in order to learn the most up to date things in the industry and to further improve my skills.

During this time  as you can see  I obtained my CSP (certified salon professional) and CPG (certified professional groomer) qualifications through ICMG in 2018. I aim to continue my journey and complete  the qualification gaining my ICMG (international certified master groomer).

I always knew I wanted to work with animals and after i finished school i went to study animal management in college. I spent 2 years at Sparsholt College to gain my Level 3 Extended diploma in Animal Management. It gave me loads of experience with a wide range of animals from dogs and rabbits to red pandas and emus. While studying there I especially enjoyed working with the dogs in the kennels, giving them walks, cleaning out there kennels and helping to ensure they were happy in their environment. after finishing college I looked at different animal jobs which would suit me and I could continue to learn and improve in. This is when I found dog grooming and knew I wanted to do it!

I started as a grooming assistant in Southampton, where I learnt how to handle, bath, dry and prepare the dogs for grooming and styling. I did this for 3 years and then decided to work through my level 3 qualification in order to open up my own business.

I have also completed my level 3 AIM qualification in dog grooming in 2021. This taught me all the basics about cutting, styling and most importantly safe grooming. It has taught me so much more about dog grooming and I also qualified as a pet first aider while taking the course.

Awards

In 2019 I entered my first competition with Pogo the cockerpoo. We didn't place in our class however we got a highly commend ribbon for doing so well for our experience level.

The following year I entered another competition with Flynn in a new class and learnt lots more on how to achieve a breed standard cocker spaniel groom. This time we won the another special award for our good hand stripping work in the beginners class.

In March 2023 we attended the South East Grooming Show, placing 1st in gundog open! We received some brilliant feeback from judges on how to further improve. Following from that in May 2023 we went to the Great British Grooming Show up near Manchester. We managed to place 1st again in gundog Open! Having placed 1st twice, this has earnt us 2 Golden scissor awards which go towards moving up to the champ class

We can't wait to be able to attend more grooming competitions!
